(1) ssid with multiple Vlans

Can I use the same SSID with multiple vlans? It's because we have two buildings and it would be easiest with just the same SSID. It has to be a different vlan because of our firewall.

You certainly can. Either with something like dynamic VLAN (requires Radius) or you can use WLAN Groups / AP Groups with VLAN override function. The override function looks to be using a different SSID. I am trying to keep it the same.

Hi, sorry if I caused you any confusion. The point of override is to allow you to assign a WLAN a different VLAN. You have to create different WLAN groups and then apply the overridden one to the appropriate AP. This will do exactly what you want.

So lets say we have AP1 in the lobby and you want SSID#1 with VLAN#100. Then you want AP2 in warehouse to have SSID#1 but with VLAN#200. You could create 2 WLAN groups, one with the default configuration and then another with SSID#1 but click override and put in VLAN#200.

Attached some screen shots. Hope they make sense.

Good luck.

What happens with the client roaming in a configuration like this? Will the client get lost and have to rejoin the ssid in order to grab a new address from this vlan?

Sorry to raise a dead thread
