I am filtering by OS for this purpose. I only allow Windows and MacOS, this iOS and Android are left out.

for filter by OS there is no limitation, but the ZD has to be able to recognize the OS. We had some trouble when windows 10 came out because the ZD did not see it as Windows. I think there is a limitation on how many MAC addresses can be stored in the internal databases. The exact number is in the help files. I don't know it by heart, but it is in the low hundreds.

MAC ACL has a limit of 128 entries.
