I am facing "AP synchronization issue with Zone Director"

Products :
Ruckus Access Points - zf7343,zf7321
Zone Director - 5000

Can you share us with details to check this issue.

Hi Durairaj,

Thanks for posting your query in Ruckus forum.

As per your query,You are having issue AP joining to ZD,Precisely .APs syncing issue with ZD.

Please provide below mentioned details which will help us to offer adequate troubleshooting steps:

1.What is the firmware being used in ZD
(Refer to ZD GUI>>Dashboard>>system overview>>Software version)
2.Are APs and ZD in the same IP subnet.
3.Do you see APs (ZD GUI>>Monitor >>Access points) listed as "disconnected" or see no APs shown .

I would really appreciate if you could help us with above mentioned details.

Hi Dheeraj,

As per your saying ,pls find the details

1.What is the firmware being used in ZD - 9.5.1.0 build 50
2.Are APs and ZD in the same IP subnet. - Yes same segment
3.Do you see APs (ZD GUI>>Monitor >>Access points) listed as "disconnected" or see no APs shown . - Yes "disconnected" AP's are listed.

As mentioned earlier,kindly guide us how to troubleshoot this type of issues.

Hope you are doing fine!!

Thanks for your response .

Now, first thing we need to make sure that we have ping connectivity from ZD to AP and Vice versa.

Do we have VLANs configured on the ports where APs and ZD are connected or it just a flat network?

How about the IP assignment for AP and ZD?

Here I mean whether you are using external DHCP server or ZD DHCP server.

Also I like to know if APs are ZD in the same site or remote to each other.

Here are the steps which might help you to resolve the issue:

1.If you see ping going from ZD to AP then you can execute below mentioned commands.

Take a SSH session providing AP IP address and credentials.

Set director ip

Ex:

set director ip 192.168.15.65

where ZD IP address=192.168.15.65

2.If there is no ping connectivity then you can reset the AP by pressing and holding the reset the button for 8-10 secs.

see if ZD GUI>>Monitor >>Access points >concerned AP >>provisioning

Please follow above mentioned steps which might resolve your issue and if not do reply me with info requested.
