Unleashed with R350's Slow Speedtest

We have four R350's connected to the same POE switch.  Connecting directly to the switch we are seeing consistent speed tests of 150/40.  Walking around connected to the Wi-Fi we are seeing 10/10 consistently.  The only variation is that sometimes it might be 10/9 or 9/9.  We have verified that there are no rate limits applied.

We just installed this 2 days ago and am hoping that there is something we are overlooking?

Problem solved!  It turns out that it was an ethernet switch problem after all.  We discovered that the switch ports were enabled for POE + and as a result it lowered the throughput to 10 which now makes perfect sense.

Something new every day...

Hi Joe,

What software version and/or controller type are you using?

Have you tried different client devices and a different switch? It's very suspicious that you are getting almost a symmetrical 10Mbps up/down.

It could be that the APs need authorising on another part of your network such as the switch or firewall to provide full bandwidth throughput and are in an 'unverified' state that is limited to 10/10.

It certainly doesn't sound like a Wi-Fi issue as interference would normally give you more variable results every time you tested.

HTH,

Darrel.

The Unleashed software version is 200.12.10.105.100.

We have tried numerous client devices with very similar results.

I can connect a laptop to the switch that the AP's are connected to and consistently 150/40.

We have discussed with the IT person and he assures us that there is nothing regulating our throughput.

I agree that the consistent 10/10 is a significant clue here.

We might need to take a standalone AP to the site and connect it to see what the results are.  The site is 1.5 hours away, so inconvenient, but as always we will do whatever necessary to make it right.
