Swapping Unleashed Access Points...

Swapping a 710 with a 650 in my home, I plugged the 650 in to the PoE switch to download firmware, etc. I noticed that after all the upgrading, etc. the 650 was assigned as a member and my old 710 turned in to the master. If I want to just swap these AP's, can I unplug the master and just plug in the new 650 and it will be good to go? How do I swap them like this when one got assigned the Master label and they are working as a "team" now? thanks.

Hi Robert,

Unleashed network electss one master (Usually the first AP configured becomes the first master and later on, depending upon internal election process, new master can be elected, in case of existing master reboot/faulty/lost connection).

You can remove any AP from the network without worrying because one of the available AP will become the new master, this way swapping AP is a worry-free task in Unleashed.

If you want to keep any specific AP as master, you can choose it as preferred master under Admin >> System setting.
