RUCKUS Users and Roles Management

LANTECH
New Contributor

Dear all,

i have ruckus unleashed network with 4 access point (02 x Master, 02 x Member) and the current firmware version of unleashed firmware is 200.15.6.212.27.

my question is about the custom roles that we create as per our need.

what i did? i create a role with only allow to specific Wlan. then i created a user and assigned that user this custom role. but when logged into the unleashed interface, i can still make changes to all Wlan. if i set the role to have access to the only and a specific Wlan, then why the role doesn't work. i mean that the user with this custom role should have changes permissions to the selected and specific Wlan. not other Wlan that i did not select.
in simple words, the roles on ruckus unleashed interface is not working.

why is that?

need your help please.

Hi Lantech ,

Thank you for posting your query !!!

I understand that roles on ruckus unleashed interface is not working.

To assign roles on the Ruckus Unleashed interface, follow these steps:

Go to Admin & Services > System > Roles. The Roles page will appear, displaying a Default role in the Roles table.

Click Create.

Enter a Name and a short Description for this role.

Choose the options for this role from the following: - Group Attributes: Fill in this field only if you are creating a user role based on Group attributes extracted from an Active Directory server.
Enter the User Group name here. Active Directory/LDAP users with the same group attributes are automatically mapped to this user role.

Allow All WLANs: You have two options: (1) Allow Access to all WLANs, or (2) Specify WLAN Access. If you select the second option, you must specify the WLANs by clicking the check box next to each one.
Guest Pass: If you want users with this role to have the permission to generate guest passes, enable this option.

Note: When creating a guest pass generator role, you must ensure that this role is given access to the guest WLAN/s.
If you create a role and allow guest pass generation, but do not allow the role access to the relevant WLANs, members of the "Guest Pass Generator" Role will be unable to generate guest passes for the guest WLAN.

Please let us know how it goes.
