It's worth mentioning this was mentioned in an end of sale announcement on the wave1 APs about a year or so ago

A little help to anyone wanting to update their R710's from standalone 100.2.0.0.336 to latest 200.8.10.3.243 unleashed firmware version.

I couldn't directly update from 100.2 to 200.8 directly because it gave me md5 checksum error, no matter how many times I have downloaded and checked integrity of the 200.8 files.

The trick that worked for me was as:
1. Factory reset
2. From 100.2 upgrade 200.7.10.202.94
3. From 200.7.10.202.94 unleashed you can now upgrade to 200.8.10.3.243 unleashed.

Speeds and everything else is satisfying so far with this version on the R710.

As outlined on the Unleashed 200.8 Release Notes page, and in the Unleashed 200.8 Release Notes.

(Always read the Release Notes of the version you plan on upgrading to!)

https://support.ruckuswireless.com/documents/3125-ruckus-unleashed-200-8-ga-release-notes

P.S. You can use the Online Upgrade method to get to 200.7.10.202.94, and again to get to 200.8 GA.

If you have 802.11ac Wave1 model APs not supported in 200.8, stay on secure version 200.7.10.202.94.

We recommend everyone upgrade to at least version 200.7.10.202.94, to protect from a security vulnerability.

I replaced 2 R700 using a ZD1200 with an R710 unleashed and an R720 unleashed.  My internet connection speed has dropped more than 50%!!!!  Same exact location, wiring, 13 clients (only!).  Same everything.  Just swapped out the radios and set up the unleashed network.  Latest firmware too.  How can I fix this?!  My internet speed went from 220 consistently to 95 at best.

My R510 was upgraded to 200.7 firmware once the Amazon installer came last year. My speeds were as bad as yours. They returned and downgraded to 200.6.10.1.312 and since then i have full speeds when i am closer to it. In parallel i installed my Linksys Velop Mesh router and they are working without any problem . I heard the latest and greatest 200.8 still have performance issues. Or you downgrade to 200.6 or return your APs an buy a different brand. After 1y the company can’t fix the issue, it seems they don’t know it or doesn’t care about it.
