Switch Issues after Power Outage

isaaccloos

Hello,

I see similar posts regarding the switch getting stuck in routing mode after a power outage. I suspect that was my issue. I've disconnected and been using the ISP router, but the service is still not as good, so I am trying to actually figure out the issue. I was looking through the knowledge base and have not been able to get the IP address or PuTTY to work as detailed in the guides.

When I scan, two Ruckus IPs come up. I have a Switch and 2 WAPs, but only two IPs show up. One pulls up the WAP page as the Guide indicates. The other states that the IP address refused to connect. So I am not able to verify that address and when I try that address, it doesn't connect in PuTTY, so I have been unable to access the CLI I tried a factory reset of the Switch, but that did not resolve my issue.

Hi @isaaccloos

Greetings!!!

Thank you for the response and the update.

Please try to reboot (unplug and plug into the power outlet) and try IP Scan once again to check if any new IP address gets assigned to the Switch.

If you are still unable to get the IP address of the Switch, please try getting console access to the Switch and help me with the command outputs I shared previously.

Here is a guide on how to access to the Switch via console (cable access between your PC to the ICX 7150-C12P) in this case we need a USB type C to USB standard OR Console cable Rj45 to USB (Any one cable- please refer the guide)

How to console in the ICX-7150-C12P

Please confirm if you can log into the console CLI after performing the above steps.

Please let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

I downloaded the driver and confirmed the correct port, but I am not getting a prompt when I open up the CLI. It asked me for login info. I tried to use the info in the default passwords guide, but it would not allow me to enter a password.Device Manager.jpgCOM3 PuTTY.jpg

Hi @isaaccloos

Greetings!!!

Thank you for the response and the update.

Once again please try the below mentioned default credentials.

Username: super

Password: sp-admin

If the above credentials don’t work, you can try below default credential combinations as well.

If that doesn't work, the next step is to recover the username password.

While you have the laptop connected to the Switch with a console USB cable and the CLI screen up it asking a username/password, reboot (unplug and plug from the power outlet), and follow the video below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ynKwSTpd_A

Once you have successfully recovered the switch password, use the following commands to either modify the existing password or create a new username and password:

enable

configure terminal

device(config)#username super password pass

In this example, the username is ‘super’ and the password is ‘pass’.

To ensure proper authentication, execute the following commands:

device(config)#crypto key generate rsa

device(config)#aaa authentication login default local

device(config)#aaa authentication web-server default local

Please let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience.
