ZD to vSZ AP conversion

How can I "convert: the AP from Zone Director (current setup) to Smart Zone? Is it a different AP firmware?

Hi Pawel,

Yes, the two platforms are completely different and APs need to run a different version of firmware.

However, depending on your version of ZoneDirector, there is a built-in SZ migration utility that does much of the hard work for you if your SmartZone isn't yet setup.  https://docs.commscope.com/bundle/sz-511-sz100-vsze-administrator-guide/page/GUID-5BC85E0A-72F3-4813...

Alternatively if you just need to migrate individual APs, then you will need to load the APs with the 100/114 standalone firmware and perform a factory-reset, before adopting them to the SmartZone. This is available on the Ruckus Support portal for download.
