Where to find R560 Standalone Firmware?

Walvoil

I bought a single R560 for a SMB and I'm running into a bit of an issue. The R560 is going to replace our R510 WAPs which were on the Unleashed platform.

I was planning on this R560 to be standalone, and I upgraded the firmware to 118.1.0.0.1098, however despite it saying it's the standalone firmware, the 560 is Changing all of my radio channels to SmartSelect and I can't change it. It also disables HTTPS/HTTP for the GUI when I update the firmware.

Does anyone have an idea on where I can get the Standalone firmware for this model that doesn't have Unleashed, or SmartZone?

TIA

Hi Walvoil,

Thank you for sharing the requested information.

From the CLI output, I have observed the following:

To proceed further, please share the CLI output of the following commands:

  • get power-mode
  • get wlanlist

If the output of get power-mode appears as below:

rkscli: get power-mode

PoE Configured Mode      : Auto

Power Consumption Status : 802.3af Switch/Injector

USB Status               : Disabled

Controller Discovery     : Disabled

OK

Then, please enable LLDP on the switch port where the AP is connected and hardcode the power mode on the AP using the following command:

set power-mode at

Kindly share your observations after applying these changes.

Thank you for writing to the RUCKUS Community FORUM.

You can upgrade the R560 from 118.1.0.0.1098 to 118.2.0.0.875, which can be downloaded from:
https://support.ruckuswireless.com/software/3851-ruckus-solo-access-point-118-2-0-0-875-release-r560

After upgrading to 118.2.x, please log in to the AP via CLI and share the following outputs:

get version
get scg or get director

You can also enable HTTP and HTTPS access to the GUI using the following CLI commands:

set http enable
set https enable

Should there be any queries, feel free to revert.

I upgraded to 118.2.0.0.875, but I'm still getting the same issue. Here's the commands you asked for:

rkscli: get version
Ruckus R560 Multimedia Hotzone Wireless AP
Version: 118.2.0.0.875
OK
rkscli: get scg

------ SCG Information ------
SCG Service is disabled.
AP is not managed by SCG.
State: Not Available - busy or not running.
Server List: Not found
No SSH tunnel exists
Last Join Time : NA
Tunnel Uptime : NA
Total SSH Tunnel Establishments: 0
Failover List: Not found
Failover Max Retry: 2
DHCP Opt43 Code: 6
Server List from DHCP (Opt43/Opt52): Not found
SCG default URL:
SCG config|heartbeat intervals: 30|30
SCG gwloss|serverloss timeouts: 1800|7200
Controller Cert Validation : disable

Controller Discovery : insufficient PoE
-----------------------------
OK
rkscli: get director
------ ZoneDirector Info ------
Primary Controller : 0.0.0.0
Secondary Controller : n/a
DHCP Opt43 Code : 3
AP is in Stand-alone mode.
OK

However when I log back into the GUI, my radio channels still show only SmartSelect Channels. I'm wondering if there is an old R510 on the network that was previously running unleashed, would that override the configuration on the R560?

I looked into our ICX 7150 and confirmed that the settings were correct on the port, but lldp wasn't enabled.

I enabled lldp, and set the power mode in the WAP and that seems to have fixed the issue, thank you so much for your assistance!
