When will ZoneDirector 1200 be VIEW Certified by Spectralink for 84- series phones?

I see the new ZD1200 hasn't been "VIEW Certified" with Spectralink as yet.  Are there any plans to get it certified?

The current VIEW certified configuration states that Spectralink handsets work with a Zone Director 1100 running firmware version 9.7.1.0.32.  Does the 1200 support that same firmware and should it work identically to the way it would on a 1100 (except for speed/performance, of course).

We're having a new Wi-Fi system installed at our new warehouse and the system needs to work with Spectralink 8440 handsets.  I'm hoping that I can use a ZD1200 instead of ZD1100... otherwise I'm going to have to look at Aruba or some other vendor that has had their current offerings certified, which would be a shame, since we've been using Ruckus kit since February 2013 and I'm very happy with it.

Thanks,

Matty Brown.

Hi Michael

Is it the case that it's only a matter of time before the ZD1200 and R500 are VIEW certified, or could we find ourselves struggling to get the configuration right to work well with the Spectralink 8440's?  We endured months of broken audio and problems roaming before our ZD1100/ZF7363's worked well.

I know you're saying that one of your customers uses the ZD1200, 9.9.0.0.216 firmware and one of the current AP models, but I fear that buying a Ruckus solution based on the ZD1200 controller before the VIEW certification is completed is asking for trouble.

Regrettably, we're now considering other options.

Matty.

Hi Matty,

I can't say when we'll see the certification updates, but I can assure you that there are NO installations I know of that we haven't been able to optimize VoIP for the vendor/model of phones deployed, including many hotels, hospitals, old buildings, and very challenging enviroments including warehouses.  We should be able to service any handheld scanners you have too, depending on what's around (ie heavy machinery, welders, generators).

Just thought I'd update this thread to say that we've been using the ZD1200 and ZF7372's with our SpectraLink 8440 handsets since 1st March 2016 and so far, it's worked flawlessly.  Calls are clear and I can't say I've noticed the transition between AP's at all.

Firmware versions:
Ruckus 9.9.0.0 build 216
SpectraLink 4.12.0.1053

I'm glad we were able to stick with Ruckus for our WiFi :).
