Ruckus r730 Solo - Issue with 802.11ax

Hello.

I know that support of home DIY users is not a main goal of company but I hope you can help.

I got used r730 and trying to use it in my flat. It's a little bit overkill but because a building is old such powerful control of beam is very useful, it can connect to device through 2-3 walls in compare to customer solution that lost connection after 1 wall.

Because this AP is kind of ugly duckling, it is unsupported by Unleashed. However, only one looks enough.

I face with an issue: Wifi 6 is unstable.

Shortly configuration:

  • channels: tried 116, 140, 132, 160
  • channellisation: 80 Mhz
  • clients: MacBook M1, iPhone 15

It looks like silent kick off from connection. However, if it is connected, it works as hell with up to 1100 Mb that is almost theoretical limit.

Right now I disabled Wifi 6 (ax) on 5 Ghz and it works good. Continue to testing.

To debug it I connected syslog server (mezmo.com) and set log level to info (6) so I can see saved logs.

The main question: what should I look for in this logs.

Also few questions:

  • there are a lot of errors. Is it possible to set some params to reduce amount of this error. Of course, I'm curious what it is at all.

Log errors:

Dec 17 12:02:54 RuckusAP daemon.err cubic[684]: domain_suffix_handler:61 ret:[26]/[system call error]

Dec 17 12:02:54 RuckusAP daemon.err cubic[684]: wrap_getaddrinfo:1184 Address [] is invalid address.[-258: Unknown error].

Hi @namezys,

Thank you for reaching RUCKUS Technical Support via Community.

Please could you share CLI output of "get power-mode" from AP as it will working to its full potential if it get 16.1W & above.

Please refer R730 datasheet https://webresources.ruckuswireless.com/datasheets/r730/ds-ruckus-r730.pdf.
