Hello all,
I have some questions regarding a Ruckus R550. I'm trying to upgrade this product via the CLI, but I'm having trouble doing so. I'm currently using The Ruckus 901-R550-US01.
The output via the CLI is:
Auto F/W upgrade = disabled
Running on image = Image1
FW Control Control File = r550_9991_cntrl.rcks
Control File Server = fwupdate1.ruckuswireless.com
Protocol = FTP
Port = auto
User = ""
Password = ""
The above is the output after I factory reset it. I currently enabled an FTP server on my Windows computer, and followed this guide:
https://support.ruckuswireless.com/articles/000001551
I tried installing this version:
I believe it's failing to update probably because this current R550 isn't unleashed, rather it's probably meant for a ZD/SZ controller. I'm trying to convert this to unleashed and I'm having trouble.
I connected to the SSID it broadcasts with the default settings, however I'm unable to access it via the IP given on DHCP. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or am I not allowed to do this?
Any general guidance would be helpful!
Thanks

What is output of "get version"? If you have old ZD firmware (which seems to be a case) you may be unable to upgrade to latest firmware directly.
Find what version you have, and look on release notes for newer versions, to find which is latest you can upgrade directly. Than upgrade.
What I don't like is that you can't access WEB UI. As you are in on SSH, try command:
"set factory"
it should reset configuration or at least provide some error message.
Hope it helps.

Oh sorry, I forgot to provide that.
F/W: 114.0.0.0.1432
So, before I created this thread, I did visit this doc: https://support.ruckuswireless.com/software/2480-standalone-ap-software-114-0-0-0-1432-r550
that's the current firmware, and then I visited:
https://support.ruckuswireless.com/products/179-ruckus-r550#sort=relevancy&f:@commonproducts=[R550]
and downloaded:

I changed the control file from R550-200.9.10.4.233.bl7 to 114.0.0.0.5585.bl7(which is the solo image compared to what I was doing before in trying to install the unleashed version)
I also did the set factory, and it didn't provide an error message but it did go through. Doesn't seem like it did anything.

is this AP going to join a controller or is it going to be a solo AP? The easiest thing would be to factory reset the AP, then upload a solo image from the GUI and then keep it there for solo or join a controller (ZD/SZ) after that.
This is the latest solo image for R550:
Thanks.

HI,
It looks that ftp upgrade fails, as control file is missing on ftp (wrong path, file name or content).
But isn't clear what firmware version you have on AP currently and why WEB UI isn't available. Please, use get version to check current version...
