R850 802.3bt compatibility?

Hi,

I'd like to know if R850 can be powered by 802.3bt switch and has all features enabled?

Background information:

1) The datasheet only mentions PoH and UPoE but not 802.3bt.

2) Ruckus POE power doc refers to 802.3bt Class 5: https://docs.commscope.com/bundle/zd-10.4.1-userguide/page/GUID-3BAA5DD1-7DA9-4D05-A04C-03711E073C12...

It's confusing a bit. Can R850 negotiate 802.3bt Class 5 on switches that only support 802.3bt and not UPoE/PoH?

Hi @stkasm82,

R850 APs indeed support BT Power upto Class-5 (Upto-35W). If the PSE (Power Sourcing Equipment) is capable of Type-3 BT, then the max power negotiable is upto 60W. Meaning the switch with just BT power should support Class-5 BT PD (Powered Devices).

About the data sheet we will update it at the earliest.

Hope this answers your query.
