Hi, about 6 months ago I purchased some R770s and installed them in my home with 10G POE via a Netgear MS510TXUP. While it’s been some time since I’ve owned them, I’ve finally gotten around to making an account to ask about the extremely loud high-pitched coil whine I hear when being around them (<20ft). Has anyone else encountered this? Could this be addressed with new firmware, or do I need to switch to another brand?
Thanks

Yes, it's a known issue with older versions of the r770. From what I've heard these units were replaced by ruckus. If you bought one off ebay for cheap it may have been one of those older units. It's not something you can fix with a software update, and it's not a normal experience with ruckus APs.

Interesting, thank you for letting me know. Do you know if there’s any confirmation from Ruckus about this issue?
I started an RMA for one of my devices, and support would not any answer/acknowledge of my questions about the issue and is merely trying to move forward with the RMA. They say I will receive a refurbished product (which I have concerns about), and that the only way for me to receive a new unit is if it was returned within 30 days (even though the warranty mentions it could be either new or refurbished). If this was a hardware defect for the early releases then even if I returned it within 30 days I’d likely face the same issue. And I am concerned that if I get a used unit now, it will have the same issue.
This is not the kind of situation I thought I’d be in when spending thousands on professional grade devices.

Re order history- I bought three units from CDW in September 2024
