PoE Question For R550 AP

Hello,

I just recently joined the Ruckus family and decided to purchase an R550, but I currently have a switch that supports 802.3af/at and it is not able to power the Ruckus device.

My question is, do Ruckus APs need a proprietary injector or power supply?

Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the Ruckus family! We're happy to have you with us.

Regarding your question, the R550 access point supports both 802.3at (PoE+) and 802.3af (PoE) standards for power. Here are a few steps you can try:
1.) Check the Ethernet Cable and Port: Try using a different Ethernet cable or switch port to see if the AP powers on.
2.) Manual Factory Reset:
Connect the AP to a POE injector or switch.
Press and hold the reset button for about 15 seconds, or until the AP reboots.
