Hi, I am still fairly new to ZonePlanner and am trying to determine what the correct transmit power settings should be for various APs. I can find the RF Power Output on the spec sheets but am trying to make sure I set them correctly to mW in the AP properties. I found this conversion site:
http://www.rapidtables.com/convert/power/dBm_to_mW.htm . I was trying to create a heat map based on the customer's existing ZF7363 and compare that to the R510 and R610 APs. The ZF7363's are listed at having 26 dBm for 2.4GHz and 24 dBm for 5GHz. The R510s are listed at 26 dBm for 2.4GHz and 25 dBm for 5GHz, while the R610's are 28dBm for 2.4GHz and 27dBm for 5GHz.
ZF7363:
- 26 dBm on 2.4GHz = 398mW
- 24 dBm on 5GHz = 251mW
R510:
- 26 dBm on 2.4GHz = 398mW
- 25 dBm on 5GHz = 316mW
R610:
- 28 dBm on 2.4GHz = 630mW
- 27 dBm on 5GHz = 501mW
In the screenshot below, the R700 seems to default to 250mW for both 2.4 and 5GHz. Selecting a different AP antenna does not change the transmit power.
Files provided by my distributor, seem to use 50mW for 2.4 and 80mW for any AP antenna chosen.
How do I know the correct value to set for the various models of APs?
Thanks!
Tim
