After a software upgrade to version 9.8.2.0 build 24 the first 10-15 minutes all R700 dual band AP's on the 5 Ghz band select channel 100 channelfly enabled,
2.4 Ghz band are spread ok (channel 1,3,6,11 for example) from the beginning.
So the first 15 minutes after the upgrade the throughput of the WIFI network is unstable, for all the stations which connect to the 5 Ghz band.
After the 15 minutes channelfly will start changing automatically the channels.
Is there an setting on the Zonedirector, to change this behavior for the 5 Ghz band, that after an upgrade the Zonedirector choose an unique channel instead of all AP's on channel 100.

Hello Arthur,
Not all features were fully enabled in 802.11ac APs (R700) in version 9.8, including
background scanning, necessary for the ZD to re-assign channels to the R700s. You
probably saw them all choose channel 149 in 5G.
We have all 802.11ac features enabled (including mesh and spectrum analysis) in
our 9.10 release, now available on the Support portal firmware Downloads page. Please
consider an upgrade to utilize the AP's full potential.

But just be aware that you can't go past 9.8 if you have any, say, 7962 on your network. They go by-by in 9.9. Kind of between a rock and a hard place for some shops.

Michael Brado thank you for the reply can you confirm the bugs which has been fixed in version 9.8.2.0 build 24 are also implemented in the 9.10 relesae, herewith our case numbers 00229865 and 00238138. We do not need the mesh feature.
Can you explain why ruckus choose one fixed 5G channel after the upgrade, we noticed that the WIFI network is unstable for the first 15 minutes after the upgrade before channelfly kicked in.
Could we request an feature request to change that behavior ?
Jim: we have only R700 ap's.

Hi Arthur,
Yes, the fixes in 9.8.2.0.24 (or .27) are also included in 9.10 code. There might be an NTP memory leak, so if you don't need it, disable NTP on your ZDs Configure/System page.
