APs not apearing in VSZ

Good day, everyone!

We are experiencing an issue when trying to add multiple APs back to our vSZ instance. These APs were previously deleted from it, possibly with interruptions or incorrectly.

Background:

  • Approximately a year ago, over 600 APs were removed from the vSZ.
  • Now, when we attempt to re-add them, they do not appear in the system.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

  • Performed factory resets on the APs.
  • Tried various other methods to restore them, but they still do not appear.
  • From the vSZ side:
    • Ran the command reindex-elasticsearch-all – this did not resolve the issue.
    • Attempted to recreate the old group where the APs were previously assigned, but received an error stating that a Mobility group with this name already exists.
    • Searched for and tried to delete the existing group via SSH console on the vSZ, but could not locate it.

Suspected Cause and Proposed Solution: It appears there may be a residual or "ghost" entry in the database preventing the recreation of the group. The only remaining option seems to be accessing the database directly and manually deleting the entry.

Question: How can we safely access the vSZ database and perform this manual deletion? Any guidance, commands, or best practices would be greatly appreciated to avoid further issues.
