Hi,
I have a customer with 9 AP RF2942 installed.
Now the customer wants to add another AP in an area not covered by signal without lan connections.
Can I configure an AP RF2942 as a repeater?
Thank You
Giovanni

Hi Giovanni,

ZF2942 cannot work as repeater however if you have ZD controller in the network then you can use mesh feature to extend the network where LAN don't exist.

If you don't have ZD either then you can consider Vscg aka cloud controller which is a very cost effective option. Please check on Ruckus Website or your local Ruckus Sales rep for more on this.

Hope this helps.

I would seriously reconsider using MESH/repeater mode in general, let alone with 2942. If this is an area with active users you will have almost no bandwidth available for them.

If there is no way around it, consider using dual-band APs or a dedicated 5GHz link through the use of maybe 7372-E APs with external directional antennas.

no R310 cannot work as MESH AP as it does not supports mesh
