vSZ 5.2.1: Factory defaulted R730 doesn't update client stats to vSZ anymore

I hit a really interesting bug re-evaluating vSZ in my home lab. The first upgrade from 5.2.0 to 5.2.1 went smoothly with everything working, but then I had to factory reset an r730.

After the factory reset, the client stats stopped updating to vSZ (current number of clients, list of clients, etc) but I can still successfully apply configuration changes.
I see some interesting messages from the AP in the syslog that did not use to be there:

Aug 20 20:32:49 R730_Office user.err MsgDist[1295]: Failed to route the message
Aug 20 20:32:49 R730_Office user.err MsgDist[1295]: RCSL_MSG_HDR : [Total Len = 57][MsgType=RCSL_PUBLISH_MSG, srcMod=ap_sessmgr, dstMod=scg_sessmgr, dstHost=scg_host, Flags=1, UserKey=0x7619990000002a6f, dstMac=0x0, srcMac=0x0, topic=0x0]
Aug 20 20:32:49 R730_Office user.err MsgDist[1295]: Route_Msg Failed
Aug 20 20:32:49 R730_Office local1.err sessionMgr[1301]: sm_init_notify_cb:193 Error: MD failed to deliver message

However from the scg standpoint the AP appears to be establishing tunnels correctly:

rkscli: get scg

AP is managed by SCG.

Hi John,

Did you upgrade the AP version as well or AP remained on 5.2.0 version?

Since you are able to make configuration changes successfully, please run below debug on AP and then pull the syslog for detailed information.

set scg syslog 0xFFF8

This seems an issue where client stats are not showing (display issue) on vSZ. However, AP is working fine.

Are you able to reproduce the issue by connecting another R730 and follow the same set of steps? If yes, please open a support case so that it can be checked further.

Regards,
Syamantak Omer
