Tx Rate & Physical Layer Data Rate.

Hi all,

Whilst trying to establish the problem with random iPhone dis-connects, I am wondering if the AP Tx power is too high for smaller devices?

Im sure i read somewhere that it is better to have less power, which should increase throughput, rather than full power to give coverage?

I was also advised here that the Tx power should be left on full otherwise it could affect Beamflex?

Anyone have any thoughts on the above?

Thanks

Anyone???????

I have to say, I am a little disappointed with the lack of response (specifically from the manufacturers) to my (probably basic to most) questions, especially considering there is no other line of support.

AP Tx power = its in dBm and its value specifies the strength of the signal that the AP produces during the times it is transmitting

Txrate is different from AP tx power its expressed as the current BPS (Bits Per Second) being transmitted.

PHY rate is the negotiated Layer 1 data rate between AP & connected devices..
