UAM server details for Zd 9.10

I'm using ZD 9.10 to configure a hotspot portal. Previously portal worked directly with AP with the following url as the UAM login url.


http://:9997/login ;

Once I configure the portal with new ZD and updated the above url with http://:9997
It doesn't work. Simply the UAM login post fails.  Telnet to this port from the hotspot server works.

Is this api deprecated in the ZD 9.10? Do I need to use the xml api instead?
