Product recommendation for large household of 15 media heavy users.

I'm seeking a Ruckus wireless router that supports 802.11ac and will handle wireless traffic for 15 people, each utilizing multiple devices, such as tablets, laptops, TVs, PCs, & cell phones. There is heavy use of streaming media such as Netflix, Pandora, Spotify, etc. We are utilizing cable (Comcast Xfinity Blast) service with upwards of 30Mb-40Mb downstream and 12Mb - 15Mb upstream. The layout of the house is single floor, 3 major areas. Two areas comprise 2 hallways in a Y configuration (top v), 4 bedrooms in each hall, and two additional rooms at the base of the Y, past an open kitchen and into and adjoining open living room area.

Hi William - sounds like my house :)

We don't currently offer an 802.11ac product, but there aren't many clients for that yet either. I use our ZF7982 product http://www.ruckuswireless.com/product... which nicely covers not only my house (a bit smaller than yours) but my yard (and my neighbors yards...) as well.

Every house/installation is different, and so I'd recommend finding an authorized Ruckus VAR in your area who can perform a site survey for an optimal plan.

Thank you for the input. Is there an ETA for an 802.11ac product? Laptops are just starting to be released that support ac, and many new cell phones do as well.

No, sorry that has to come in the form of an official product announcement. More on our view on the technical merits of 802.11AC can be found here: http://www.theruckusroom.net/2013/06/...
