R720 Not Discovering ZD1200 Over L2

R720 isn't discovering our ZD1200 over L2. Not much else to describe. Not even seeing any traffic logs of it even attempting to talk to the ZD1200.

All I've done on the ZD1200 is set it up with an IP, DNS, and NTP settings.

I see the R720 talking with our DNS and some outside IPs, but nothing else. So I thought maybe we needed a DNS record, so I added a zonedirector.our-domain.com. Still nothing.

The R720 is pulling an IP. I can access its management page. I could set up everything manually, but I'd rather not.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Latest firmware was it. Upgraded to 10.*, APs now being discovered.

Thanks Everyone that helped!

May I know If ZD and AP is on the same VLAN? Or You may consider configuring option 43 in your dhcp server.

Same VLAN, yes. DHCP options? No. We need to update our PA before that's available. If that's needed here, I do have other DHCP servers I could use.

If the AP and Controller is in same vlan it should be working fine AP and Controller has communication unless the DZ firmware is not compatible with your AP, Try to check ZD to AP compatiblity in Ruckus support site.

Check One: Is the AP model listed in the ZD's release notes as a supported model?
