Unleashed is broken when use R770 as master with 370 members.

Hi all,

We found a tricky issue.

We were using 2 x R770 as the 1st and 2nd preferred masters, not in dedicated mode.

About 35 member APs (R370) here. If we created more than one SSID (the default one), the R370 rebooted and looped in "Kernel panic".

Moreover, if we disconnect both R770s from the PoE switch, no R370 became as a new master of Unleashed, and the whole WIFI was dead.

WE are using 200.19.7.112.238.

If we reset all APs and only put 370 to online as master and member, everything is working well.

Does anyone know how we can fix this?

This doesn't sound like a normal configuration issue. Since the R370s enter a kernel panic reboot loop when additional SSIDs are created and no R370 takes over as Master when both R770s are offline, it may be a firmware-related issue in the mixed R770/R370 Unleashed deployment. Previous R370 software issues have included kernel panic-related reboots.

Since you've confirmed everything works when using only R370s as Master and Members, I'd recommend opening a TAC case and collecting support bundles from both the R770 Master and affected R370 APs for analysis.
