Ruckus in Lennar Home - Power Disconnects randomly

Every couple days the RUCKUS device loses power, but if I unplug and plug back in, lights return and everything is on/back to normal. It happened this morning when I woke up and just happened for the first time during the day while using the internet, so it is becoming more frequent.

Started maybe a week or two ago, possibly after a power outage.

As per the case description, I understand that your RUCKUS devices disconnect randomly after power outages.

This issue may happen when your RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch is running on an older version. To check and assist you with the same please follow the below process and help me with the queries.

Please follow the below steps and help us with the queries,

1. To check this issue, we must identify the ‘current’ IP address assigned by your local router to the switch ICX-7150-C12P

I will leave you a guide on how to perform an IP scanner on your local network to identify the switch IP address very easily.

2. Once we identify the IP address of the switch proceed to access remotely to the device “Command Line”

I found the IP by connecting to my ISP Gateway.

192.168.1.103 / ICX7150-C12-Switch

But I can't connect to it using PuTTY or MobaXterm

all username/password combinations do not work

Thank you for the response and the information you shared.

As your RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch is on an older version (please refer to the below highlighted screenshot). We suggest you upgrading the Switch.

Please follow the below steps explaining the Upgrade process.

The recommended stable version is 8095g (08.0.95g)

The Upgrade path would be: 08061a (your current version)>>8080f>>8095g

(PLEASE NOTE: Use 08095g patch in place of 8095h as explained in the guide)

Your Upgrade folder should contain these 3 files shown in the below screenshot: (Refer the guide link for more information)

Below are the options or methods to perform the Upgrade on the switch: You could choose any one of these.

1st Option:

1. In this option, we will use a pen drive or USB flash drive in which we move the files to the pen drive and connect it to the Switch then through CLI we execute the commands to upgrade the Switch using the following guide as a reference:

2. The following guide is an example of an upgrade via TFTP server, by using an application (FREE) to send files or upload remote files to a device, in our case, we will use it to update a new version to the Switch, basically it will send the image version remotely from the computer to the switch.

3. In this option we Upgrade the Switch from the Web Interface (GUI) of switch.

Try to access your switch from a web browser by pasting the below URL in http or https form whichever that works.

https://0.0.0.0 or http://0.0.0.0 (IP address of Switch. 0.0.0.0 is just as an example)

As you can access CLI, I would suggest you follow the 2nd option.

If ethernet cables, could you please let me know if it is only a specific one or all the ethernet cables?

Thank you for the response and for sharing the requested information.

As the ports are working fine for other network cables, the 1/1/9 port on which an Access Point is connected is only able to transmit 100 Mbps of speed (please refer to the below screenshot) which is a result of a defective network ethernet cable. This issue/problem maybe more on the cable side, we suggest you check the ethernet cable connected to the 1/1/9 port. You could try to unplug/plug it into any 1 in-12 ports as highlighted in the 2nd screenshot below and check the ‘show interface brief’ command if it is able to transmit 1G speed. If that doesn’t work, please replace the ethernet cable with a new/working cable and try again.

If your Switch doesn’t power up, could you please connect another working power cord and observe? Sometimes it happens when the power cord gets damaged.

Also as mentioned in my previous post, please unplug/plug the 1/1/9 ethernet cable into any 1 in-12 ports.

Highlighted in the below screenshot is the 1/1/9 port. However, you can unplug and plug all the ethernet cables to avoid loose plugins.
