requesting support for ICX – 7150 – C12 switch

I recently did a factory reset on this switch. After performing to factory resets, and trying to access the web UI to manage to switch none of the default, passwords and usernames from the list works. I have tried all of the passwords several times from the list the entire list and I have reset the switch to factory settings twice now. It’s possible there’s something with the switch. possible with the switch. Is there a step-by-step way of trying the CLI method or any other method to access the switch?

hello,

I was able to follow the instructions on the website and download putty and the drivers and SSH into the switch. I needed to find a video to help me with the commands once in the switch and the online video that I found did not mention resetting the username and password it just hit me select super user and password reset. So if I’m being honest, I’m unsure of the username. And does resetting the password on the device reset the password when trying to remote via the Web UI?

Hi @willkr3

Thank you for the update.

The video you probably saw is for password recovery, that step will allow you to skip the login, after that a new username and password must be set (this is mentioned after 02:25). Else you'll have to do the same thing the next time you login.

And, from my perspective, the goal is to set up new credentials that you can easily use in the future and access without having to do any particular process.

What I do in these cases, to keep it simple, is keep the username as super and add the password I want to use:

username super password password1

This is an example of a command I have used for lab environments.

The approach shown on the video should work too.

And yes, the new login you configure on the CLI will be the same you'll need to use on the switch WEB UI.

That helps a lot thank you. My last question would be to see. Do you have any suggestions on how I can mount this in my legend in wall media enclosure? Velcro is not the best solution when it gets hot it comes off. I’m

but I am not racking it in a server rack. I am trying to mount it inside of an in wall media enclosure. It’s built into the wall with holes on it, and Lennar somehow mounted them. I’d like to see if you know a solution. It has a plastic back with holes.

@willkr3, we do not have instructions for mounting the unit into the media enclosure.

To my understanding the switches were attached with just Velcro.

On this guide (then click on Download Tech Document ) there is an explanation on how to mount the switch into the wall using 2 screws, I think this could be the best option for your scenario.
