New to Ruckus / Configuring ICX7150-24P for the first time

After having used UniFi-products for a couple of years, I now made the switch to Ruckus. And honestly, with UniFi working out-of-the-box, the Ruckus ICX7150-24P is giving me some trouble. Especially considering I'm not really an IT-guy. 🙂

So here's what I did:

I added an ICX7150-24P to my rack and put a cable from my main internet connection to the management port. I gave it a static IP address.

I'm not using my ISP's DHCP server, but instead I've connected a Mac mini, which is running the DHCP server, to one of the ethernet ports.

Since all ethernet ports are set to untagged, I was expecting all my attached equipment to automatically receive an IP address from the DHCP server, but unfortunately, I'm not getting any internet data flowing.

I made sure I started working with a factory default machine.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Sorry if this seems like a silly question, but like I said, I'm not a true IT-guy. 😉

You need to move your main internet connection to any of the 24 dataports. This will in essence put everything in one vlan and it will all be able to talk. The dedicated out of band mgmt port that you are using now is meant to be on a different subnet and likely should not be used in your type of setup.

You can then define either a global IP address (on SPS image) or a VE (on SPR image) for the switch itself. You can check 'show version' to see which image type you are using.
