As I'm not the only one experiencing this issue, I assume this will be a replacement.

Ruckus ICX 7150 no longer powering up. No lights at all on the switch. Tried multiple different outlets, power cords, etc. The access points in the ceiling are not powering on either. Not sure when it happened. As I use an ethernet splitter from the router for most of my non-powered ethernet cords. I suspect just faulty equipment.

I have tried resetting the ICX at least 30 times (I always feel like I can fix it) and nothing works. Does anyone know if the ceiling units would work with a different product?

Using Ruckus ICX 7150-C12P with three Access Points (R510) for the last five years. Suddenly yesterday all three access points stopped working. Ruckus 7150 is getting power and has an internet connection but R510 does not have any connectivity, it is using POE as power input.
Also, my Unleashed account is not accessible. I did forget the Unleashed password which did set up and tried the default ones that are not working too, could you advise which one I can use?
Followed these steps but had no luck.
- Did the "HARD RESET" and tried to log in through a web browser using its default IP address 192.168.0.1 but it was not allowed.
- Tried to reset APs and it has no power connectivity also.

On Ruckus switch (ICX 7150-C12P) I can see two green lights, able to connect to internet using ethernet cable from switch.

Would like your team's help to fix my APs issue and make them work.

Please I need assistance with my wireless access points again. I was having some latency issue with my internet so, to troubleshoot, AT&T suggested unplugging Ruckus to use their wifi gateway. After establishing that Ruckus might be the cause every attempt to get it back on has failed. I have read of a similar situation posted today and I tried the reboot process but it didn't work. The devices are not getting any power whatsoever. Please any assistance would be appreciated. FYI, I have attempted to troubleshoot based on the instructions given to @RobertU @ by@Imran_ruckus with similar issue.

Symptoms and basic troubleshooting:

*All the devices are not getting power:

*But the data traffic is working, for example if you connect a computer will work.

*You have confirmed that the Ethernet cables are working fine.

*You have confirmed that all the port worked for data but not for PoE

2: Now that you know the IP address of the Switch, in my case my IP address is 10.176.192.100, search for that IP address in the URL bar of your Web browser:

How to Fix Routing code issues on Lennar Home users via Web Gui.

Symptoms:

Websites not loading
Devices getting disconnected or having problems working as intended.
Network dropping at random points in time.
Smart devices not being able to connect to the internet.
Unleashed dashboard sometimes as “Disconnected” on the Internet tab.

Note: This can happen after a power outage, causing that your Switch start booting from the incorrect partition.

The ICX7150 switch has two partitions, the primary partition will be the switching code (SPS) and the secondary partition will be the routing code (SPR); however, for an installation in a Lennar house the SPS or switching code is the one required.

1: Find the IP address of the ICX7150 Switch

If you have access to the Unleashed control panel it may appear under the Switches TAP, here you can see that the IP address of the Switch will be 192.168.1.3, of course this will change.

If it is not shown, or you do not have access to the Unleashed control panel, please follow the following guide to find the IP address of the Switch the name may look like ICX7150-C12-router, normally the name should be switch, but we have the problem about the routing code, making the Switch boot from the routing partition(secondary).

How to find my Ruckus “Devices IP address” using free applications

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Support-for-Lennar-Homes/How-to-find-my-Ruckus-Devices-IP-address-using-free-applications/td-p/47027

2: Now that you know the IP address of the Switch, in my case my IP address is 10.176.192.100, search for that IP address in the URL bar of your Web browser:

Hit login and the credentials must be

User: super

Password: sp-admin

Or test the combination

Usernames: Passwords:

admin sp-admin

super Lennar

                               lennar

                               ruckus

                               Ruckus!

                               Ruckus1

                               admin

                               password

3: Now that you have access to the Switch, let's check what you have in flash, and from which code your Switch is booting.

A:Check what you have in the flash:

click on Monitor on the left > Flash > Flash Information

B:Check from which partition are you booting:

click on Monitor on the left >device

Note:Your primary flash code will start with SPS (switching code) and the secondary with SPR (routing code), in the next step we are going to boot from the partition that has the code starting with SPS, which must be primary, however this can change, also as you can see in my example, my secondary partition have the code SPR08095 and in the second screenshot it displayed I am booting from the code SPR08095, so I am booting from the secondary partition with the routing code SPR.

4: Let's fix the issue, please follow the following steps to fix the issue, forcing the Switch to boot from the primary partition containing the SPS (switching code).

Configure left>System>Boot sequence>Select primary flash >ADD>Save>yes

When it comes back this time, the Switch should boot from its primary partitions.

Note: if you got an error message that Boot sequence already exists., hit delete first and follow up the steps back.

-Now let’s complete the process by reloading the Switch:

Command>Reload>yes

Note: for more information how to manage the Switch via Web Gui, check the next guide:

Issue Description:

Due to a power outage or power spike, the RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch has entered a state known as boot mode, where it is unable to start normally. This typically indicates a corrupted image flash. To resolve this, a software recovery is required to reinstall the firmware and restore normal operation.

Software recovery is like giving a fresh start when the system doesn’t work. The recovery involves starting the switch in a recovery mode and reinstalling a valid software image to resolve the issue and returning the switch to boot up properly.

Environment:

Product(s) : RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch

Hardware requirement : A Windows computer or MAC, USB to Type- C cable and an ethernet cable.

Root cause:

Corrupted image flash due to a power outage/power spike.

Symptoms:

The Switch will not supply power to any PoE devices, including the doorbell, cameras, and Access Points.

Devices connected to the Switch will not have network connectivity.

Console access will be the only available method to access the Switch.

The SYST light will display a yellow/orange (amber) light.

Steps to perform Software recovery:

A) Gain console access to the Switch:

The Switch can be accessed via the console following the mentioned article:

The software recovery process typically requires two cables.

USB to Type- C cable where one end of the cable has a USB Type-C connector, while the other end has a standard USB (Type-A) connector and an ethernet cable with both ends of RJ-45 plugs.

Use a console cable to connect your computer to the USB Type-C console port on the ICX 7150 Switch. The cable should be a USB-to-Type-C cable, with the USB end connected to your computer and the Type-C end plugged into the Switch’s Type-C console port (Port 1 in the figure 3) as shown in the figure 1:

Figure 1: Type C to USB connector

Next, connect an Ethernet cable from the out-of-band management port on the Switch to the Ethernet port on your computer as shown in the figure 2. (Out of band management port is the port number 13 in figure 3).

As we get access to the Switch command line interface (CLI) using the console cable, the next step is to configure the Switch with the Command Line Interface (CLI).

This lets you access the Switch even if it’s not turning on properly or if you don’t know its IP address.

Once you have access to console CLI; while opening PuTTY, you will see a prompt that says ‘boot>’, indicating the device is in boot mode.

Configuring the Computer’s IP address: Let's proceed with configuring a static IP address on your computer to establish connectivity with the switch. Since the computer is connected to the switch's management port via an Ethernet cable, the IP address must be set within the same subnet as the switch to enable proper communication.

Click on Start, then type and open Control Panel.

Go to Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings.

Right-click on your Ethernet connection and select Properties.

Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.

Choose Use the following IP address, then enter the IP information provided.

Click OK to apply the settings.

1-For SSH or Telnet session must know the IP address of the network devices

What depends on whether we use ssh or telnet?

This is determined by the current configuration of the device

SSH: Since ssh is a secure connection is going to ask us for a username and password

Defaults passwords and usernames :

Note: if access to ssh does not work tried the following ssh-keygen -R 'ip address of the device' this generates a public key pair for use when authenticating with a remote server.

Symptoms: Websites not loading
Devices getting disconnected or having problems working as intended.
Network dropping at random points in time.
Smart devices not being able to connect to the internet.
Unleashed dashboard sometimes as “Disconnected” on the Internet tab.

Note: This can happen after a power outage, causing that your Switch start booting from the incorrect partition.

The ICX7150 switch has two partitions, the primary partition will be the switching code (SPS) and the secondary partition will be the routing code (SPR); however, for an installation in a Lennar house the SPS or switching code is the one required.

3: Check the current version you are booting and what you have in your flash:

Run the next commands:

“show version”

“show flash”

Note: With the command show version, you can see that I am booting from the secondary partition with the code SPR08095d, and we need to boot with the SPS08095d(the code number can change, however the S at the end mean Switching)

Note: By running the show flash command, you will see the two partitions, and the primary will display the correct code.

SPS08095d

4:Let's fix the problem by booting from the correct partition, in our case it will be the primary partition, so run the following command

“boot system flash primary yes”

Note: The switch will reboot and will come back with the right partition in your case primary
SPS08095d,you can confirm when it came back by running the command "show version" this time will boot from primary and the code will start with the SPS instead of the SPR.

Important to avoid this problem in the future you can run the copy flash flash secondary command causing the switching code running on the primary partition to be copied to the secondary, so if in the future the switch boots from the secondary again it will now have the switching code on both flashes.

Example:

ICX7150-C12 Router#copy flash flash secondary

ICX7150-C12 Router# write memory

How to convert A Ruckus AP to Unleashed firmware

This can be helpful if you got a Replacement AP that came with the Default code Named Standalone, so you will not be able to just reconnect the AP due that it’s running a different firmware, so will not join to your current Unleashed system, an easy way to confirm this will be reconnecting the AP to the Switch, this will not appear on your Unleashed APP or Unleashed Dashboard.

1: Find the Access Point IP Address or internet address.

A: After connecting the AP to your Ruckus ICX7150 switch, this will get an IP address or internet address, that can be identified from your Windows computer by running the next command “arp -a” from CMD (command prompt) Application.

Windows start>type “CMD”> run the command “arp -a”>now you will be displayed with a list, made the match with the physical address printed in your new AP

Note: You can follow up the next Guide to identify the devices connected in your network(including the new Access Point).

A common Lennar environment is a router and one or more APs connected to the ICX-7150, this can include multiple smart devices connected through cable or Wi-Fi.

Some symptoms when the ICX 7150-c12p is running Routing code:

Smart devices like Amazon's Alexa not working as intended.
Unleashed dashboard sometimes not showing as "Connected" on the Internet tab.

Websites not loading.
Several connectivity issues.

This can happen for a multitude of reasons: Maybe the boot preference was not set when configuring the device, maybe the device was never configured and the routing code was set on the primary flash or maybe the images got corrupted after a power outage or a power spike, random reboot, among other possible causes.

VIDEO LINK AS REFERENCE:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eem1IBgYaWc

1- To fix this, the switch must be accessed via console/telnet or ssh

Default passwords: username: super password:sp-admin or try to use the same as the same to log in unleashed dashboard or mobile app

2-Once we are log in into the switch, we should see the next prompt

ICX7150-C12 Router>

Where it immediately tells us that the routing code is running.

3- Must go to Privilege mode

ICX7150-C12 Router>enable 'then Hit Enter to accept the command'

No password has been assigned yet...

ICX7150-C12 Router#

4-Run a ‘show version’ to confirm which code is running your ICX 7150-c12p

-Show version

ICX7150-C12 Router#show version

Copyright (c) 2017 Ruckus Wireless, Inc. All rights reserved.

    UNIT 1: compiled on Apr 6 2020 at 22:40:21 labeled as SPR08080f

      (29829112 bytes) from Secondary SPR08080f.bin

        SW: Version 08.0.80fT213

      Compressed Boot-Monitor Image size = 786944, Version:10.1.14T225 (mnz10114)

       Compiled on Thu Nov 15 12:59:22 2018

as we can see in the initial of the output, SPR08080f is being executed, where the third letter means that the switch is executing the routing code.

Important Note

In Lennar homes, the switch must run SPS (switching) and not SPR (routing) code

5-Once the information is confirmed from the ‘show version’ we should run a show flash

-Show flash

ICX7150-C12 Router#show flash

Stack unit 1:

  NAND Type: Micron NAND 2GiB (x 1)

  Compressed Pri Code size = 25976488, Version:08.0.80fT211 (SPS08080f.bin)

  Compressed Sec Code size = 29829112, Version:08.0.80fT213 (SPR08080f.bin)

  Compressed Boot-Monitor Image size = 786944, Version:10.1.14T225

Code Flash Free Space = 1057533952

Here we can see that both SPS is installed in the primary image and SPR is installed in the secondary on the switch.

Here to prevent this problem in the future is to run a ‘copy flash flash secondary’ What this is going to do this command is to copy the primary image in to the secondary image, eliminating the SPR image.

Note: if your switching code is in the secondary code we must execute ‘copy flash flash primary’

- ICX7150-C12 Router#copy flash flash ‘primary or secondary’

  primary Copy secondary to primary

  secondary Copy primary to secondary

How to Fix an AP Software mismatch

When adding a new Access Point (AP) to a Ruckus Unleashed network, it is critical that the AP runs the same firmware version as the Master AP. A code mismatch between the new AP and the Master can lead to connectivity issues, including the AP showing as disconnected. This article guides you through identifying and resolving firmware mismatches by upgrading the AP to match the Master AP’s code version.

Steps to fix the code mismatch:

A) Access the Unleashed Web GUI:

Open a web browser and navigate to the Unleashed Web GUI by entering the URL: https://unleashed.ruckuswireless.com
Note: Ensure that your device is connected to the Unleashed network to successfully access the User interface

B) Identify the Disconnected APs:

In the Web GUI, navigate to the Access Points tab. Under the Access points tab, you will be able to see the Disconnected APs, often due to firmware mismatches.

Figure 1: Identifying the disconnected APs

C) Review the Disconnected AP status:

Click on the Disconnected tab to access the list of Access Points that are currently offline or not functioning properly. This section provides details about each disconnected AP. If an AP requires a firmware upgrade to rejoin the network, a warning message will be displayed indicating that an upgrade is necessary. You must perform this upgrade to restore the AP to operational status.

Figure 2: Review the disconnected AP status

D) Verify Master AP Firmware Version:

Before proceeding with the upgrade, it is essential to verify the firmware version currently running on the Master Access Point (AP). This ensures version consistency across all APs within the Unleashed network, which is critical for proper synchronization and network stability.

To check the Master AP's firmware version:

1. Navigate to Access Points > Working > Master.

2. Click on Show AP Info.

3. Locate and record the displayed firmware version.

This version must match the firmware of any new or disconnected APs being added to or rejoining the network.

Figure 3: Verifying the Master AP version

E) Upgrade the Disconnected AP:

You have two options for upgrading the AP firmware: Online Upgrade and Local Upgrade.

Option 1: Online Upgrade:

To resolve a firmware mismatch, perform an online upgrade on the affected Access Point (AP) as follows:

1. Navigate to Access Points > Disconnected.

2. Select the AP that is pending an upgrade.

3. Click Upgrade, then choose Online Upgrade.

4. From the list of available firmware versions, locate and select the version that matches the Master AP.

5. Confirm and initiate the upgrade process.

Note: Once the upgrade begins, the AP will automatically download the selected firmware version, reboot, and, upon successful completion, rejoin the network under the Working tab.

Figure 4: Performing Online Upgrade

Option 2: Local upgrade:

A local upgrade involves using a firmware file that has been previously downloaded from the Ruckus Support Portal. This method is useful when an internet connection is unavailable or when a specific firmware version is required.

A. To perform a local upgrade, you must first download the appropriate firmware file for your RUCKUS Access Point model from the Ruckus Support Portal:

1. Visit the Ruckus Support website at: https://support.ruckuswireless.com

This is a reference on how to connect devices in the most common Lennar setups

There must be a modem and a router to connect the ICX 7150-C12p, it must be plugged into one of the twelve ports (the middle ones).

Note: It can be a 'modem' and 'router' or 'Modem router combo', it does not necessarily have to be 2 separate devices, you can ask to your ISP which devices they installed at your home to be sure.

1) In the next following examples you will see where there is coaxial cable goes to the modem, then an Ethernet cable goes to one of the 2 available ports on your modem which connects to the router into the internet port.

Then in one of the available LAN ports in your Router should be a cable (ethernet) that goes to 1 of the 12 ports in to the ICX -7150-C12P , in these ports is where everything that needs to be connected wired should go example (cameras/doorbell/computers etc.)

2) In the Below example is a Modem/Router Combo where only needs to connect the orange cable from the Router/modem to 1 of the 12 ports available in the ICX 7150-C12p.

Select the options that you want use for this new SSID :

Standard ( suggested ) : Use this WLAN type for most regular wireless network usage.

Guest : Use this WLAN type for a guest WLAN. Guest access policies and access controls will be applied. For more information, see Guest WLANs.

Hotspot: Use this WLAN type for a Hotspot (aka, WISPr) WLAN. To deploy a Hotspot WLAN, you must first configure a Hotspot Service. For more information, see Hotspot Services.

Authentication Method

Open (suggested ) : No authentication method is used. "Open" authentication allows the use of WPA2, WPA3, WPA2/WPA3-Mixed, OWE, or no encryption. Open authentication + WPA2 encryption (also known as WPA-PSK) is the most common type of WLAN encryption method and should be the default configuration if there are no special requirements for authentication or encryption.

802.1X EAP: Authentication against either the internal database or an external RADIUS server. The 802.1X EAP authentication method (also known as "WPA2-Enterprise") provides effective authentication regardless of the encryption method, and requires a back-end (RADIUS) authentication server. WPA2-Enterprise provides secure connectivity by ensuring that every device must authenticate to an authentication server before it is allowed access to network resources. Authentication can be based on digital certificates, and granular policies can be designed to govern the level of access and to provide visibility and control over devices on the network.

MAC Address: Authentication using the client's MAC address against an external RADIUS server or internal database.

Encryption Method

WPA2: Encrypt traffic using the WPA2 standard. The WPA2 encryption method complies with the 802.11i security standard. Announced in 2004, WPA2 encryption remains mandatory for all new products that bear the Wi-Fi trademark.

WPA3: WPA3 standard replaces WPA2 with several security enhancements.

WPA2/WPA3-Mixed: Allows mixed networks of WPA2- and WPA3-compliant devices.

OWE: (Opportunistic Wireless Encryption) provides encrypted communications for open networks.

None: No encryption; communications are sent in clear text.

7 ) Create a Password

8 ) Click in the ‘Show Advanced Options’

9 ) Go to Radio Control options

You will need one of the following cables:

An USB console cable with Type-C connector (In one side you will have a Type-C USB and in the other side a normal USB)

Or

A serial console cable with an RJ-45 connector (In one side you will have a RJ-45 connector and in the other a normal USB)

Then you will need to locate the console port on the device, it will depend on the cable you have:

2-You will need to connect the console cable into the console port (Number 1 or 15 depending on your cable) and connect to a USB on your workstation (Computer).

3-A terminal software is required to connect to the device

Here is where you can download:

4-To access by console must install a driver so that the workstation/pc/desktop or laptop can recognize the cable

Make sure to download the zip drive for the file below & "extract all". Once it's extracted, run the file ,driver should be installed.

This is a putty session:

NOTE: The “Serial line” will change from “COM1” to “COMx”, it depends on how many connections your computer currently has. To identify the one, we need go to “Device manager” and locale the USB console connection. In the following example is letting us that the USB is on COM3

The MobaXterm app will recognize automatically the USB connection.

6-Then hit ok and you are going to see a prompt like the following:

ICX7150-12 Router>

ICX7150-24P Switch>

Mac iOS system solution

1-Install the drivers on your machine to read the cable type C to console the switch ( ICX-7150-C12P )

Software:

Hello! Does anyone have a working example of the Social Media Sign In feature that was released in vSZ v6.0? Specifically I am wondering about the Google sign in option. Has anyone managed to get this feature working? Support has acknowledged that their engineers do not have documentation for it, so I'm not really sure how we're supposed to be expected to use the feature.

I've poured countless hours into the configuration, and made a lot of progress, but ultimately have not been successful. Curious if anyone else in the community has worked out this mystery.
