We had a power outage for more than 2 hours and after it was restored. The ICX switch is not powering the access points and its SYST light is amber Solid and PWR is solid Green. Can you please help how we can fix this issue.
Hi @DeepakS11728

Based on the picture provided, it appears that the RUCKUS Switch is displaying an amber SYST LED, which typically indicates a boot issue.
Please attempt a hard reset using a paper clip. If the reset does not succeed on the first try, please repeat the process multiple times.

Thanks everyone for the reply.
I tried doing the reset disconnecting the device and them powering on, holding the reset button using the pin and nothing is happening. Holding it down for even a minute just never blinks any lights, The Syst light remains solid amber and PWR with green as is. when I just click the reset (without holding) all the lights turn amber with a blink and then nothing happens like a restart. Can you please let me know why I am not able to hard reset this device?
Thanks,
Deepak
Thank you for your response.
Please attempt to reset the Switch using a paper clip, repeating the process multiple times. Both the PWR and SYST lights should turn green.
If the reset does not resolve the issue, the next step would be to perform a software recovery on the Switch.
For guidance, please refer to the article shared in my previous message. If you need any assistance during this process, feel free to reach out.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hi Imran.
What I am saying is that the reset it self is not working. The reset resolving the issue is an unknown. As per the documentation holding down the reset for 10-15 secs should turn up all the lights amber. I have hold it down for even a minute and nothing happens, no lights coming up apart from the same SYST amber and PWR green constantly on. That is the reason I am asking why would the hard reset on this wont work on this device? Does that indicate some other issue?
Thank you for the response.
We cannot assure you that that works on all the Switches.
If SYST does not turn green is an indication that the reset is not working, as mentioned previously the next step would be to perform a software recovery on the Switch.
For guidance, please refer to the article shared previously. If you need any assistance during this process, feel free to reach out.
Ok my bad. The key to reset is that you have to press the pin and then plug in the power cord. Now I see the lights are flashing amber. Can you let me know for how long would these lights keep flashing? And how would we know if the reset is complete. Currently all lights are flashing amber except PWR that is solid green
I hope you’re well.
The process should not take much longer. For additional assistance, please refer to the video linked below:

Thank you once again for your patience.
Thanks for the update. I tried 3-4 times and the reset is just flashing with lights only. So I started to recover with the steps mentioned. I did all the steps but where I am about to connect to putty for COM3 its not getting into it. I could not see "boot>" Can you please help.

Thank you for the response and the update.
Please make sure to download the zip drive for the file below & "extract all". Once it's extracted, run the file, the driver should be installed using the 2 links below. Reboot the laptop then select COM port with silicon lab information from the device manager and check for boot> prompt on PuTTY CLI.

Please check and let me know if that works.
Thank you again. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

I tried that but it still did not work. Updating the Port driver added COM7 and when I connect it via putty it still wont bring up the boot.

Could you please unplug and plug your Switch from the power outlet and check COM7 once again on the PuTTY.
If still you are getting the same result, I request you please download the MobaXterm app similar to Putty and perform the same operation once again there.
Below is the link to download the MobaXterm application and refer to the screenshots:

Select COM7 from the Serial Port dropdown.
Please let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thanks Imran. Unplugging the switch and plugging back made the COM7 port work and I was able to reimage the switch. After that the switch is working fine now and the Access points are alive again.
Thanks for all your help and prompt responses. It was great to work with you. Appreciate it all.
Great!!! Good to know that the issue is now resolved.
