ZF7731 IP Config Info

I have a pre provisioned ZF7731 pair. Do the root and non root devices need to have an IP on the same network to see each other? They did connect to each other in the lab area when the firmware was updated. I have other steps to troubleshoot connectivity but I would like to rule this out by having the answer to the question above.

Hi Donald. 7731's will pair regardless of IP settings - IP address is just for management.
