Hi I have seen this issue on a customers site before.
Do you have a gateway specified in the management interface?
If the two physical IPs of the controller and the "VIP" address are in the same VLAN then do not specify the gateway on the mgmt interface.
leonard_tsang
In the management setup I didnt tick the box to specify a gateway for the management IP.
unknown
Are the physical and mgmt IP address all in the same local subnet?
leonard_tsang
And also sometimes when I try to go to the management IP in a web browser, it crashes the active controller and thus cannot reach it on its own IP until a minute or so after.
unknown
Could you explain the topology of the network and where the controllers live please
leonard_tsang
controller IPs 172.17.80.11/172.17.80.12
mgmt IP 172.17.80.10
yes same subnet
unknown
Thanks, and what code is running on your controllers?
unknown
And you don't have them physically attached together with a single Ethernet?
I.e they are uplinked to the same or separate switch once?
leonard_tsang
controllers are connected to a HP2510G with the servers.
The HP2510 is connected to a layer 3 3com E5500G
The 3com connects to two core distribution switches HP 5406 ZL

Leonard Tsang, if your browser causing ZD to crash for whatever reason then it for sure needs investigations hence request to open a ticket with our support team with following info:
Debug file for both ZD's need to be collected.
which browser and its version?
Also pls chk if you are able to see this same issue on a different browser and on a different machine?
Is something specific being done which causes this or anything?

Just a quick question, we are in the process of setting it all up.
Do the switch port where the Aps are connect to have to be VLAN'd and Trucked?
Does the switch uplink have to VLAN'd and truncked also?
