ZoneDirector 1100 can't choose the right authentication server

Question

Hi everyone,

on our ZoneDirector 1100 we want to use 802.1x EAP for one of our WLANs. But we can't choose our Active Directory entry in the authentication server section. There's only "Local database". We already created a AAA Server with the Active Directory option, also the test of the authentication settings was successful. Does anyone have an idea why we can't choose the Active Directory entry?

Now I realized I have to set up a RADIUS server to use 802.1x.

For 802.1x Authentication you have to have Radius as the AAA Type.  If you have AD you can only us that for standard wlan with WebAuth.

The Radius server will check against your AD, but you need the Radius front end to make 802.1x work.

What have you chosen for the "Type" of "WLAN usage" and what have you chosen for "Authentication method"?

You should have Standard Type and 802.1X for authentication and then you can choose your AAA server.
