ZF2942 set director ip not working

Question

Hello 
I am running a zf2942 in a subnet that is different then that of the Zone Director. I cannot get the AP to register, I can ping both ways from ZD to AP and AP to ZD 
I read another article that said to login to the AP via SSH and run command

set director ip primaryip secondaryip

when I try to use this command I see the following

rkscli: set director ip 192.168.100.30
Did not recognize cmd:  set director ip 192.168.100.30

any help would be greatly appreciated

what is the firmware version on the AP?

if it is different then please upgrade it to same version as controller? btw you can hardwire the AP into controller spare ETH port that should pick the AP and upgrade/configure/provision it.

if all is good then put it back at its actual physical location
