APs restarts quite often with various reasons (vSZ 3.5.1)
unknown
I have been experiencing problems with AP restarts for a very long time.
APs restarts quite often with various reasons:
was rebooted by the system because of [system recovery by watchdog]
was rebooted by the system because of [system fault]
was rebooted by the system because of [AP lost SCG more than 7200 seconds]
was rebooted because of [power cycle].
I have reviewed our PoE switches (Juniper EX3300), but didn't noticed any issues on their side.
APs are managred by vSZ version: 3.5.1.0.296, AP models are: ZF7372, R510, H510.
Has anyone on that forum experienced that kind of problems?

Hi Dawid,
Based on the AP reboot events you have mentioned, there could be many reasons for the issue to occur.
"AP lost SCG more than 7200 seconds" means there was no communication between the AP and vSZ. Or there could be packet drops between the AP and vSZ.
About the other events, we would need the AP support log to find the root cause.
I request you to please open a support case from the below link so that the support team can check on this.

Hello Sanjay,
Thank you for the response. Unfortunately we don't have valid support contract for this particular controller, that's the reason I'm asking this question on forum.

Interesting to note, we too have seen APs seemingly randomly rebooting .. and yes, we ALSO have Juniper EX3300 switches.

That's interesting, and how did you deal with it?

We really haven't yet, but we are on code 5.1.2. I did find this post however, which might work for you.

I also noticed LLDP doesn't properly negotiate speed with Ruckus as well, and had to manually hard set APs as AT power.

I'm not sure if this issue concerns PoE, because I have noticed that the problem is also present when ZF H510 is powered by local power supply and is connected to non PoE port.
