Hi Blason,
You can configure an external DHCP server with the Ruckus WLAN system . See the basic topology diagram below.
Client will get the VLAN information from WLAN and send the DHCP discovery through the DS . The DHCP server connected in the same network will respond to the discovery massages and complete the DHCP process.
Please note that if the DHCP is in a different subnet , you would need to configure the DHCP proxy on the switch or the router .

ah yeah thanks for your help dude..This is just a basic topology that I am following and wondering how wifi devices will be able to reach to LAN connected DHCP server.
What if the APs dispersed geographically?

Hi Blason,
If the AP is connected to a remote site , by default it will keep the client traffic on local site . Client will still get the IP address from the local DHCP server . See the diagram

Thanks once again.
And referring to your first topology which is an simple one. Can I implement Guest Access with single network or do I need to incorporate L3 witch and then implement Guest VLAN?
Well eventually I need to implement Guest Access with simple topology that you have shown in first diagram.

Hi Blason,
There are two option for the authentication .
Use guest pass authentication: Redirect the user to a page requiring the user
to enter a valid guest pass before allowing access to the guest WLAN See
Working with Guest Passes.
• No authentication: Do not require redirection and guest pass validation.
You can create the L3 interface on the router if you don't have L3 switch.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Munish
