Do I need a controller for 72 Access points ???

That is true that you need a controller and it is a nightmare if you need to configure 72 APs individually. I was trying to configure it on my own and it was like a hell. Luckily, I received help from Custom writing center. They are great!

Yes.  Even configuring the 72 APs individually will be a nightmare, let alone monitoring and maintaining them.

Look at the ZD1200 (up to 75 APs) or ZD3000 (up to 500 APs) or the SZ-100 (up to 1000 APs).  For 72 APs the total cost would be similar between these three units so it really depends how scalable you want it to be.
