How to Protect SCI Database?

Hi all,

Is there any redundancy mechanism or HA mechanism supported by SCI. Since it contains sensitive data what can we adhere to as a safety mehanism to protect VM and it DB.

Hi Pamuditha,

The data node cannot be accessed directly to query data. The SZ cannot communicate with the SCI data node directly either.

The master node always knows the datanodes connected to it. The datanode also knows the master node it is connected to, so if it goes down and comes back up, it will try to reattach itself to the master node.

Thanks for the response. In case of SCI master node fails, connectivity failure, can SCI data node be accessed to query data? Or can vSZ communicate with SCI data node? 
Is there any hearbeat mechanism available between two nodes?

Hi Pamuditha, If you have a master node and a single data node, it is ok. 2 copies of the data will be stored instead of 3, that's all.
