Wireless Interference from Trees?
unknown
Hi,
maybe a stupid question...
How difficulty is a Tree (thickly overgrown) for a wireless Signal?
I have to plan a Mesh Link between two T300 Unleashed.
There are some (2 or 3) Trees (not a forest) between APs. Because the Pole (about 8 Meters) is not high enough the Tree still is in my way.
What do you think?
No Problem? Huge Problem? Just Trying? Give a T301s a try?
Please share your thoughts with me.
Thanks.
KR

You should base the design of your link in the Fresnel zones.
This link could help you:

Thanks.
Ok. So i should keep the fresnel zone clean.
I think the Fresnel zone can be calucalted? Maybe i should look for an online Calculator.
Using a "stronger" or more directional Wireless Antenna may also help???
I ask because it's easier just to use a more directional 120° Degree Antenna (T301s) instead of cut down the Trees or increase high of the pole.

Yes, I think it could help, though, I think the most important thing would be to keep the fresnel zone at least 60% clear.
I will try to explain how to calculate the area easily without an online calculator.
The equation that you must use is the following:
r=17.32(meters) x √d÷4f
r=72.05(feets) x √d÷4f
where, r=size of the first fresnel zone, d= distance between your antennas (kms) and f= frequency (Ghz).
Therefore, the radius of the first fresnel zone must not be less than the result of your equation
I hope this helps you and I hope I have explained it correctly.
Regards...
