Outdoor AP placement guideline

We're planning an outdoor coverage area of about 10 acres (455,000 sq ft).  This is mostly open space with gardens.  Ideally, we would like to place sectorized access points along the perimeter to reduce the site work necessary.  I've been unable to find any kind of placement guide regarding these (or any other) outdoor access points beyond horizontal vs. vertical.  We're assuming that the access point can transmit much farther than most mobile devices, so perhaps this is less of a Ruckus specific question, and more of a "Outdoor WiFi best practices" question.

Hi Don,
    All environments need to be analyzed, but some general guidelines may help.  Place outdoor APshigh up on your poles or mount points, dome facing down, for best coverage.  You should get up to300 feet circular pattern around typical outdoor APs, ie T300, T310c.  The T301s (sectorized) is builtto radiate RF in a focused range, rather than 360 degrees for perimeter considerations.  If using acontroller, you can mesh your APs, but try to limit to just 1 or 2 hops maximum, for best client through-put.  I hope this is helpful.
