Why is the session duration in session inventory longer than configured network disconnection timer?
unknown
I am using Cloud WiFi. A network is configured with captive portal login. In advanced settings it is set to allow the user to stay connected for 15 minutes. When checking the session inventory under analytics, there are session in excess of 15 minutes. Seeking clarification on why this is happening and a possible explanation of how the sessions are generate. For example, if a user who is connected to one AP roams to another AP, is a second session created?

Hi VG, thanks for your post. The session is counted when the client is associated to Wi-Fi. Which means, even if captive portal didn't authenticate client beyond the 15mins, the client may stay associated (but not authenticated).
