        <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello,</p><p>We've recently upgraded our vSZ-H cluster to 6.1.2 (up from 5.2.2) and I'm trying to test a new H550 into the environment. I currently have around 650+ H510's, that work no problem, but I can't get a new out of the box H550 to join. I've scanned the AP into the vSZ, same process as an H510 with no luck. My H550 has an ip address (same ap management vlan as the H510's) and is pingable from the SmartZones.</p><p>I've tried 2 different H550's, with different cables and different switches. Any help would be appreciated.</p><p>Jon</p>]]>

Sign up now"<br />I went to "Sign up now" and created an account<br />There, when I tried to bind the network, I get:<br />"Error. Network´s username or password verification failed"</p><p>We would like to use the remote management to access directly from anywhere.         <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello,</p><p>Been using 3 Ruckus R510 AP's, latest Unleashed firmware 200.15.6.212.20.</p><p>Something i did while streaming from my phone to my Nvidia Shield gave a popup 'streaming over 2.4ghz causes slowdowns' or something along those lines.</p><p>For some reason all devices seem to only get 2.4Ghz hardly any device connects on 5Ghz? And even when a device is connected on 5Ghz the speeds are miserable.&nbsp;</p><p>Yes i know 3 AP's seems a lot, i got 1 in the office, 1 in living room and 1 in bedroom. Coverage seems extreme but i also like to have a good signal outside.</p><p>On average ~20 devices are on this network, peaks up to 45.</p><p>My setup :</p><p>&gt;Fiber 2/2Gbit. (Yes waiting for new router to do 2.5/2.5)<br />- Edgerouter (Hardware offloading on)<br />- Juniper EX4200 48T 8xPOE<br />- 3x R510 on POE ports. (normal use for all devices)<br />- 3x Ap AC lite on POE ports. (mainly iot stuff, lights, censors, cameras, switches etc overall 40 devices)</p><p>Tested on several devices from the same spot not even ~1M away from AP.</p><p>- PC - Wired&nbsp;<span>Download</span><span>&nbsp;</span><span>Mbps 9</span><span>43.79/</span><span>Upload</span><span>&nbsp;</span><span>Mbps&nbsp;</span><span>938.05</span></p><p>- OnePlus 8T 2.4Ghz (oldest phone) ~88Mbps down/58Mbps up.</p><p>- OnePlus 11 5G 5Ghz ~ 177Mbps down/100Mpbs up.<br />&gt;Device info shows Link speed 702Mpbs on 5Ghz.</p><p>- OnePlus 13 2.4Ghz ~87Mbps down/63Mbps up.<br />&gt;Device info shows Link speed 144Mbps on 2.4Ghz</p><p>Using the app 'Wifiman' on both the OnePlus 11 and 13 i'm connected to the same AP (same Mac address shows)<br />&nbsp;On the OP11 it shows my SSID and both 2.4 and 5Ghz (connected)&nbsp;<br />&nbsp;On the OP13 it shows my SSD and ONLY 2.4Ghz (connected)&nbsp;</p><p>. Is there a way to without creating 2 different SSID's (like: mywifi 2.4 and mywifi 5)&nbsp; to 'push' the 5Ghz capable devices to 5Ghz?&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello, we are using R610 AP's running firmware version&nbsp;<strong>6.1.0.0.1595</strong> (using WPA2-AES for encryption). We frequently have devices with Intel AX201 chipsets having an issues where they connect to the AP but fail to get an address. This issue is tough to recreate but seems most common if the device has been "off" WiFi for an extended period.<br /><br />The wlan logs on the device show security starting, stopping, succeeded in a loop then the 802.1x authentication restarting. This will usually happen for a few minutes until it either resolves, device/wireless radio cycled on/off, or in some cases the network is reset in Windows.</p><p>Are there any issues we should be aware of or settings changes that should be made to resolve the issue. A majority of our fleet uses the AX201 chipset and we are often seeing these issues popup.</p><p>Let me know what other info I can provide and any help is appreciated!</p>]]>

Though it loads up initially just fine, whenever I try to edit a Wi-Fi network or click on the "access points" section it just loads an empty grey screen. Here’s my current setup:</p><ul><li>I have a UniFi AP upstairs that’s connected to my switch, and I’m using it to broadcast my network.</li><li>Downstairs, I used to have another UniFi AP set to bridge mode, wirelessly connecting to the upstairs AP to extend the network.</li><li>Now, I’d like to replace the downstairs UniFi AP with the Ruckus R650, set it to <strong>bridge mode</strong>, and connect wirelessly to the upstairs UniFi AP.</li></ul><p>Does anyone know the steps to configure the R650 for this kind of wireless backhaul in <strong>bridge mode</strong>? <p>In this article, I will explains an issue with customer DHCP configuration (related to DNS Domain name) which can potentially cause AP connectivity issue with RUCKUS Cloud.</p>
<p><span style="font-size: x-large;">Symptoms</span></p>
<ul>
<li>If you hit this issue, AP may show online but as soon as you make any configuration changes on venue, AP, WLAN, it will result AP state changing to "Never contacted Cloud".</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>AP will not show any new event, since the time of its last successful connection to Cloud.<br />In some cases AP will also show in "Operational -&nbsp; applying configuration" state on Cloud UI and will never complete applying configuration.</li>
</ul>

<li>AP will still serve clients with last known configuration (if AP was not rebooted).</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: x-large;">How to troubleshoot?</span></p>
<ul>
<li>Run a capture on switch port where AP is connected and reboot the AP.<br /><em><strong>Note:</strong></em>&nbsp;This will not help if AP is configured with static IP configuration.</li>
<li>Check the uplink packet capture and analyze (look at the DHCP Offer frame) the DHCP packets for the DHCP process.</li>
<li>You will see DHCP server sending DNS domain name information.</li>
</ul>

<li>When Domain Name is added to the DHCP and configured on AP, AP will append the AP-Cloud discovery URL which is device.ruckus.cloud to device.ruckus.cloud.xyz.com. Because of this change in Cloud URL, AP will not be able to reach the correct controller IP (usually DNS resolution will fail) and will eventually fail to connect to Cloud.</li>
<li>In case domain specific URL (in this case "device.ruckus.cloud.xyz.com") has a valid DNS entry on customer/public DNS server, it will further result in connection failure as resulted IP address will not match with the correct Cloud controller IP address.</li>
<li>You can also factory reset one AP and then SSH into it (with default credentials super/sp-admin), run below commands to confirm if AP is getting the DNS Domain name configuration from DHCP.</li>
<li>Run and review the output of "get dns" command.</li>
<li>Output when DNS Domain name is received from DHCP server.<br />

<p><span style="font-size: xx-large;">Resolution</span></p>
<p>While issue is impacting RUCKUS APs, this is completely an issue caused by customer DNS and/or DHCP server configuration.</p>
<p>Follow below steps to fix the issue.</p>
<ul>
<li>Check and remove the domain name configuration from DHCP IP pool which is used for RUCKUS Access points.</li>
<li>Just updating the configuration on DHCP server may not fix APs as APs will still hold old IP&nbsp;which has valid lease time. In this case you may reboot the AP so that AP can get the fresh IP lease from DHCP server without DNS domain name. Also clearing the IP lease from DHCP server can help.</li>
<li>Even after rebooting or re-requesting IP from DHCP if issue is not solved, remove the AP from the Cloud and re-add.</li>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi all,</p><p>I have seen all the posts about the slow speed, which I am also having on the 5Ghz band, but with the latest 200.15.6.112.54 firmware I am having not only speed issues but connection stability as well. I have done a full reset and left the AP on auto, allowing the BSSID to be on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz band. I either get extremely slow upload speeds like a Phy link speed of 3Mbps, or the client disconnects. Here is the config below. As far as I know this device shouldn't perform this poorly?         <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey everyone,</p><p>I'm new to Ruckus hardware but experienced with networking, particularly with Netgear and Unifi products. I recently got two free Ruckus R750 APs from work and have a Unifi switch with three VLANs set up (in addition to the LAN).</p><p>I know I need to configure the the switch to allow the specific VLANs, but I can't find any VLAN settings in the configuration page. Also, I want to set one of the APs in bridge mode because my router is on a different floor than my home lab. I need the second AP to function as an Ethernet port for my switch in the lab, similar to my current Unifi setup. The AP as been reset, is online and has the default firmware.&nbsp;</p><p>Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!</p>]]>

I Would like to add it to this SmartZone (I have free license's), but I can't.         <description><![CDATA[<p>I am currently using (United States) DFS channels in the 5GHz spectrum due to congested airways. I have my syslog server set up to alert me when an AP detects DFS interference, but I notice that the 'Radar found' log only shows the primary (first) channel in the log entry. As an example, if I am using 80MHz widths (let's say channels 100, 104, 108, 112) and the AP is manually set to channel 100, the DFS 'Radar found' long entry lists the interference on channel 100.</p><p>I don't believe the interference is actually on the primary channel as I've shifted the channels quite a bit and every time the log entry only shows the primary channel.</p><p>Is there any way to identify the actual channel/frequency that the interference was on so I can eliminate those channels permanently?</p><p>Thanks</p>]]>

<p>In R series Ruckus has many different AP models and though physical layout may look different for each AP, reset button is always located near the ethernet port or in some APs near the USB port.<br />One thing to note, in R series APs there will be single Reset button. Pushing the button just once and releasing it will do a restart (power cycle). Pushing and holding the button for 8 seconds or more will factory default the AP settings.</p>

<li>Identify the type of AP model from the above list.</li>
<li>Find a paper clip or the clip which came with your RUCKUS AP.</li>
<li>Make sure AP is power ON while you perform reset.</li>
<li>To factory reset, locate the Reset (FD button for Wall Mount APs).</li>
<li>Push the button with clip and hold it for 10 seconds (8 seconds are required but to make sure reset is done correctly, use 10 seconds).</li>
<li>Release button and let the AP factory reset and boot.</li>
</ol>

<li>Type the AP's CLI admin username and password (this depends upon how AP is being managed)

<li>For ZoneDirector managed APs username password will be the same as Zone Director admin credentials.</li>
<li>For Unleashed also it will be the same as your Unleashed master AP.</li>
<li>For SmartZone managed APs it will be the user name password set in AP Zone's settings.</li>
<li>In default state AP's default user name and password is: super/sp-admin</li>

<li>Now run the commands "set factory" followed by "reboot".</li>

        <title>How to reset entire Unleashed network for reconfiguration or gaining the access to Unleashed management, if access is lost?</title>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>In this self-help discussion, I will explain how we can reset Unleashed network (mainly customers having more than 1 AP in Unleashed network).</p>
<p>This may require when customer doesn’t know the access credentials for admin web console due to change in ownership of the device or lost password due to any other reason.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>What is the problem?</strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>If you have more than 1 AP in Unleashed network and want to reset entire network, this can be difficult due to redundancy feature on Unleashed.</p>
<p>If you factory reset current master, election process will quickly elect new master from any available AP in the network and old master AP will again join the Unleashed network as a member of it.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Then what is the solution?</strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>There are three ways to factory reset entire Unleashed network.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Method-1</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Disconnect all the APs physically from wired network, except the master AP.</li>
<li>Factory reset master AP by pushing and holding the reset button or using master AP CLI (ap-mode) and then run the command “<em>set factory</em>”.</li>
<li>Now reconfigure master as per requirement.</li>
<li>Reset other member APs one by one (one at a time), by powering up on a isolated network (member APs should not be able to reach master AP over the network) or using POE injector or power adapter.</li>
<li>Once all member APs factory defaulted, plug them back to the network so that they can be discovered by master and get the fresh configuration.</li>
</ol>
<p><em><strong>Note:</strong></em></p>
<ul>
<li>Above procedure needs physical access to the devices, so cannot be done remotely.</li>
<li>A power injector or POE switch (in isolated network) or a power adapter is required.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Method-2</strong>&nbsp;</p>
<ol>
<li>If all APs are connected to a managed switch, you can shut the switch ports of all the member APs.</li>
<li>Then factory reset master AP using CLI (<em>set factory</em>).</li>
<li>Now shut down the port for master and turn up other member APs (one at a time) and follow the same for rest of the APs.</li>
<li>Once all the APs are done, keep last AP online, configure as master and then un shut the all switch ports for other APs.</li>
</ol>
<p><em><strong>Note:</strong></em></p>
<ul>
<li>For the above procedure you must have access to switch(es) where APs are connected.</li>
<li>To run "set factory" CLI command on master AP you have to first go to "enable" mode &gt;&gt; "ap-mode" and then run the "set factory" command followed by "reboot".</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Method-3</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>SSH into each AP or use master AP CLI (remote AP CLI option) to hardcode member APs role as “member only”. <p><span>In this self-help topic I will&nbsp;</span><span>explain what to do when Zone director suffers hardware failure and APs are down, while you get ZD replacement.</span></p>
<p><span>There are two ways to temporarily restore the APs with limited functionality, while you get the ZD replacement.</span></p>
<ol>
<li>Convert your APs to Unleashed code (AP models must support Unleashed firmware).</li>
<li>Convert your APs to stand alone firmware and configure individually (works irrespective of AP model).</li>
</ol>
<h1 id="toc-hId-477058126">Option one: Convert APs to Unleashed and manage from single master AP.</h1>
<ol>
<li>Factory reset specific APs or all APs (in case of big network you may want to follow this to critical area APs only). Refer our community thread from&nbsp;<em><strong><a rel="nofollow" href="https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Self-Help/How-to-factory-reset-or-factory-default-different-type-of-Ruckus/td-p/46029" target="_blank" data-cke-saved-href="https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Self-Help/How-to-factory-reset-or-factory-default-different-type-of-Ruckus/td-p/46029">here</a></strong></em> to know more about how you can factory reset a Ruckus AP using AP CLI or physical button reset.</li>
<li>Download the compatible Unleashed firmware as per your AP model from <em><strong><a href="https://support.ruckuswireless.com/products/82-unleashed-and-multi-site-manager?open=software#sort=relevancy&amp;f:@commonproducts=[Unleashed]" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" data-cke-saved-href="https://support.ruckuswireless.com/products/82-unleashed-and-multi-site-manager?open=software#sort=relevancy&amp;f:@commonproducts=[Unleashed]">Ruckus support web site</a></strong> </em>(Note: If you have mixed AP models where some are supported in Unleashed and some or not, you may not be able to restore all the APs).</li>
<li>Login into each AP using web browser, go to Maintenance &gt;&gt; Upgrade &gt;&gt; Local &gt;&gt; Browse the Unleashed model specific firmware file and complete the upgrade.</li>
<li>Configure the very first AP (post upgrading to Unleashed) and this will become your Unleashed master AP (Controller AP). For configuration help refer quick setup guide from <em><strong><a href="https://support.ruckuswireless.com/documents/2601-ruckus-unleashed-200-7-ga-quick-setup-guide-r320/download" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" data-cke-saved-href="https://support.ruckuswireless.com/documents/2601-ruckus-unleashed-200-7-ga-quick-setup-guide-r320/download">here</a>&nbsp;</strong></em>and user guide from <em><strong><a href="https://support.ruckuswireless.com/documents/4105-ruckus-unleashed-200-12-user-guide/download" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" data-cke-saved-href="https://support.ruckuswireless.com/documents/4105-ruckus-unleashed-200-12-user-guide/download">here</a>.</strong></em></li>
<li>Now upgrade rest of the APs same way. If 1st AP upgraded and configured as Unleashed master (Step-3 and 4) and rest of the APs are on same subnet then rest of the APs will join Unleashed master by its own.</li>
<li>Till you get your ZD replacement, you can manage the network from Unleashed master AP. Once you get the replacement, downgrade APs to standalone firmware and APs should rejoin the ZD.</li>
</ol>
<h2 id="toc-hId--442892656">Limitations:</h2>
<ul>
<li>Only supported APs can be upgraded to Unleashed.</li>
<li>APs must be in same IP subnet.</li>
</ul>
<h1 id="toc-hId--2042901808">Option two: Convert APs to standalone mode and manage individually</h1>
<ol>
<li>Same as step-1 of option one.</li>
<li>Download the stand alone firmware from support site, as per your AP model.</li>
<li>Now login into each AP using web browser, go to Maintenance &gt;&gt; Upgrade &gt;&gt; Local &gt;&gt; Browse the model specific standalone firmware file and complete the upgrade.</li>
<li>Configure each AP individually.</li>
<li>Use the APs in stand alone mode while you get replacement for your ZD. Once you get replacement, configure it in isolated network and then place it back to the network. All the APs should reconnect (if AP/ZD both are in same IP subnet).
<ul>
<li>If AP/ZD are in different subnets, use DHCP option 43, or configure DNS or manually configure controller IP in each AP (set director ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx).</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ol>
<h2 id="toc-hId-1332114706"><strong>Limitations:</strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>AP cannot be managed centrally. Means you must configure and manage each AP individually.</li>
<li>Since APs will be managed in stand alone mode, roaming will not work.</li>
</ul>
