Client Traffic Logging - ZD1106

Hi,

We have a ZD1106 (v. 9.9.0.0 build 216) with various access point ZoneFlex 7372, I configured the "Log Setting" on ZD so that I could receive routing traffic, as IP / Port Source, IP / Port Destination, MAC address, AP MAC address, however, I didn't receive it, just other logs. Is it works on this firmware as well as the other or just version 10.2?

In these guides below I couldn't find anything about it.

     Ruckus Wireless ZoneDirector Release 9.9
     Ruckus Wireless ZoneDirector Release 9.8
     Ruckus Wireless ZoneDirector Release 9.10
     Ruckus Wireless ZoneDirector Release 10
     Ruckus Wireless ZoneDirector Release 10.1

Only in this guide below, I read about it, but I need to know for sure before upgrade the firmware.

     Ruckus Wireless ZoneDirector Release 10.2

Thanks a lot.

Hi Andre,

on the 10.2 release notes, are you referring to the "Export Client Logging Info" on the Enhancements section?

Could you please confirm the section you are referring to on the 10.2 release notes? I can check on this and can confirm you.

Regards,
Sanjay Kumar

Hi Sanay,

It's possible to see that in the "Advanced Options > Client Traffic Logging" of the article below.

 http://docs.ruckuswireless.com/zonedirector/10.2/GUID-A4A27D84-AFB9-43E2-88CA-419D718BD90C.html

I'm referring to access log to a external syslog server.

Hi Andre,

ZD1100 cannot be upgraded to 10.x firmware, as its an EOL produce and max you can upgrade to 9.10.x release.

Kindly refer this article and confirm if this solves your issue.

Please note that above article will help you to get "client details" in syslogs, once enabled in referred location. Modern firewalls use this client info to apply different UE/traffic policies.
