What switch works with RUCKUS wireless AP's

GWwillings

I am tired of spending half the next day after a power outage rebooting this entire network. I am looking at getting my own switch and bypassing this garbage ICX switch. I would like to keep the ruckus wireless ap's, but this switch is just straight ticking me off. There is ZERO reason that I should have to spend half the next day to get the switch to work properly.

Please do not worry I will help you get this issue resolved sooner. Could you please explain the issue you are facing?

And please let us know the answers to the below queries to assist you better.

1. Was this working before or is it a new installation? If it worked before, was there any power outage before you started facing this issue?

2. On your switch while it's plugged into the outlet, do you see any lights on? (Amber or green) Please let us know which lights are on. (Please refer to the below picture and share a picture of the same, showing the light status and the FULL Switch panel cable connections to the Switch ports)

3. Is your Internet Connection from the Internet Service Provider (ISP) stable and working? (You could check this by connecting to your local router Wi-Fi or from an ethernet cable from the Router to a laptop/PC).

4. May I know how many Access Points are connected to the Switch? Could you please let me know the light status on the Access Points? Any of these lights are on (Please refer to the below picture and share a picture of the same)

Please help us with pictures of your ICX-7150-C12P Switch showing the status of the lights and cable connections to the Switch ports. Also, light the status of Access Points.

Yeah, I can do that since I am not home and I took half of a day rebooting (as usual with a power outage). I am not going to take pics of this especially now that I FINALLY have it working again after spending half a day getting to work, I know full well what amber lights mean and what green lights mean, and support avoiding the question I asked. The question I asked is "What switches work with the RUCKUS AP's as I am tired of dealing with the same issue every time there is a power outage".  There is and has been something wrong with this switch since I bought the house and the switch is well out of its warranty and I am not about to pay over a thousand dollars for another ICX switch knowing that this one has a problem. Every time (without fail) there is a power outage I have to switch everything over to connect via my gateway then spend the next half day rebooting this switch. This is something that should not happen.

Hi @GWwillings

Thank you for the response and the detailed information you shared.

This issue after a power outage usually happens when your RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch is running on an older version. We suggest you upgrading your Switch to a stable version as described in the below RUCKUS Lennar Knowledge Base self-help guide.

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Lennar-Support-Knowledge/How-to-upgrade-RUCKUS-ICX-71...

Please upgrade your Switch and let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.
