Hi Pamuditha, SCI uses HDFS to store data, and supports the default HDFS 3-factor replication for data redundancy. Which means, if you 3 or more data nodes, SCI will store 3 copies of the data, so that if one of the data nodes goes down, there are still 2 copies of your data, and no data is lost.
As for the safety mechanism to protect the VM and the DB, please ensure that the VM is behind a firewall in a protected network , and only the ports specified in the installation guide are opened.
Hi Lakshmi, Thanks for the response. In case of SCI master node fails, connectivity failure, can SCI data node be accessed to query data? Or can vSZ communicate with SCI data node? Is there any hearbeat mechanism available between two nodes?
