Hi, I am an IT Support from one of the Hotel in the Philippines and I have problem of Ruckus ZoneFlex 7341/3. The problem I encountered is that we already configured the SSID of the said AP in the Hotel but after a couple of days, we found SSID named "Island" in the said hotel. We already upgraded the Firmware of the ZOneDirector but we still found "Island" SSID in the area and the worst case was, some of time, few will be found "Island" sometime, lots of them will be found. Please help us on how to resolve this kind of problem because our company are losing money on this. your feedback is highly appreciated. Thank you.

Do you mean your clients are seeing another hotels wifi which is called "island"?
Do you mean your clients can see multiple instances of "island" coming from your access points?
Something else?

1. wouldn't surprise me
2. would be a little weird

I believe you may have meshed enabled and it creates SSIDs using the term island.
Normally, nobody would be able to connect to these SSID's.

yeah, i mean, our ruckus access point is also broadcasting "island" which is very inconvenient to our guests. The configured SSID name of the AP is most likely gone if the Ap itself is broadcasting "Island".

Earl, Keith,

In my case, I tryed everything on that answer, but under Monitor -> Access Points I could see a External IP addr diferent from the one I set out manually. But since I knew which IP addrs the AP had, i connected via SSH and typed these commands:

set ipaddr l2tp dynamic
set ipaddr wan dynamic

I don't know if I needed to type them both, or just the one related to the interface that didn't "add up" (which, in my case, was WAN), but after both commands (2 auto reboots) the ZF discovered the ZD and upgraded the firmware in a couple of minutes.

This may be useful in the future.

Just to add to this, if you have changed the IP on your default gateway recently and it is not what is configured in the APs network settings, you will see Island SSIDs.

I've seen this in older versions of firmware not sure about the current.
