Hi Support

Reference : QOS : WIRELESS LAN / CCTV / BAR SCANNING / WAREHOUSE / LITE USER USE / ETC.

I’m planning, and setting up a demo kit for a customer. The ZD1106 Ruckus managed wireless network needs to support a bar scanning system later on next year. Presently they are using an old wireless network made up from bits of equipment, and it's not working very well.

Currently the system supports allot of wireless CCTV equipment, and I don't want to get caught up in any technical issues that are not mine. But at the same time the customer wants me to sort out everything. { It's one of those ones }

My Questions ?

I'm looking for advice on how to setup the QOS for the Wireless CCTV, on the ZD1106. Also, advice on how I should approach the wireless bar code scanner. Is there any questions I should be asking at this stage.

I've wireshark currently running on the site, and I've remote access.

Thank you.

Warehouse RF environments can be challenging. I suggest to do a site survey
with a laptop or spectrum analysis tool to insure adequate coverage everywhere
the scanners will be used. Due to interference in 2.4G, can the scanners use the
5G radio band? Use a WPA2/AES PSK encryption, over WEP/TKIP alternatives.

Ruckus SmartQoS may help with the CCTV, but specify 'high' priority on the WLAN
used by these devices. If the CCTVs are wired behind APs, don't mesh more than
one hop. Good luck with your demo.
