Hello Stuart,

By default ZD tunnel is NOT encrypted which you can enable tunnel encryption for tunneled traffic. this option is available at configure --> services --> Tunnel Configuration

Tunneling traffic to ZD should be avoided as that spikes the resource utilization of ZD and may trigger all kind of performance issues if traffic is too much.

hope this helps.

All,

I was just reflecting about how I have my organisation's ZDs and APs implemented and wondered what the impact would be of tunnelling all WLAN traffic to the ZD.

Is the tunnel encrypted (ie is there a crypto overhead that will degrade throughput)?

Are there any tables that list the maximum throughput for the complete range of APs and ZDs?

Thanks,
