topic vSZ WLAN Cert for Microsoft RADIUS/IAS in Wireless Questions and Best Practices

So I've got a Server 2008 R2 DC that is also a CA and is also running my NPS. I'm at the point where I can connect to the WLAN using RADIUS with my AD user's credentials but before I get to that point you have to accept the scary pop-up below on Windows 7 clients and something slightly less scary on Windows 10 clients. I've been using this tech note as my guide https://support.ruckuswireless.com/answers/000002109 but I haven't been able to figure out how to get rid of that Windows Security Alert box. I've tried exporting the cert and then importing it under the Trusted Root Cert on the client but that doesn't seem to have done anything. How can I get rid of this pop-up when joining my WLAN?

EDIT: I'm thinking it has something to do perhaps with my server certificate being expired? As I understand it the cert must have same server name as the NPS server?
